AI Voice Controversy in Destiny Rising
When you play Destiny Rising, you can notice that some of the NPCs’ dialogues used in-game are AI voice-generated. People have opposed this, stating that it will disrespect the hard work of real voice artists. As AI is already taking away human jobs, people fear that this will take away actual voice actors’ jobs. They also state that the robotic voice will remove real feelings from the characters.
NetEase has already replied to this controversy and called it a placeholder for the alpha stage. They stated, “Indeed placeholders and will be changed in the final build of the game”. So in the final release, we’ll experience all the AI dialogue replaced with real voices.
